I was chatting with my brother the other day about car insurance (yeah, thrilling convo, I know), and he brought up something kinda interesting. What if your deductible wasn't set in stone, but instead it changed depending on how you drive? Like, say you're super careful and haven't had any accidents or claims for a couple of yearsβmaybe your deductible could gradually lower itself as a reward. But then, if you get into a fender bender or something, it would bump back up again.
Seems like it'd encourage safer driving habits, but I dunno, maybe it'd also stress people out worrying about their deductible going up and down all the time. Or maybe it'd just confuse everyone, haha.
Would you go for something like this if your insurance company offered it, or would you rather stick to the usual fixed deductible? Curious what other folks think about this kinda idea.
